The Carmel of St Joseph in Bacolod is celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel on July 16 commemorating the centennial of the Fatima apparitions in Portugal.
“We chose our feast to commemorate he 100th anniversary of the apparition of our Blessed Mother to the three children to make of our Lady’s ,essages as our themes as we heed her call to prayer, penance and conversion, three elements so needed in our lives today,” the Bacolod Carmelites said in a statement.
A novena with morning and afternoon masses began Friday, July 7 and will culminate Sunday, July 16. The morning masses are set at 6:30; the afternoon masses at 5:30.
There is imposition of scapular after the masses. On July 16, feastday, a mass is set 5:30 a.m. with Bishop Gerry Alminaza as celebrant. A concelebrated mass with Bishop Patricio Buzon as main celebrant is scheduled at 7:30 a/m/
In the afternoon, a rosary procession will be held from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Bata to Carmel, at 5:30 after which a mass with Fr. Jesmar Manato is scheduled.*
